Clayton often shares a story about John Lennon, who, as a child, answered “Happy” when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up. His teacher told him he didn’t understand the assignment, and Lennon replied, “I don’t think you understand life.”

That philosophy inspires Clayton’s approach. He believes that before choosing a career path—or a business—it’s essential to define what will truly make you happy. For some, it’s high income; for others, it’s more family time or building a lasting legacy. One of Clayton’s first questions to every client is, “What is it in a career that will make you happy?” Once he understands that, he can focus on finding the franchise opportunity that best fits their definition of success.

Personal Background
Clayton grew up in Owasso, Oklahoma. Although his family had modest means, his hard work and dedication earned him a grant to attend Northfield Mount Hermon, a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts. From there, he received an academic scholarship to Dartmouth College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Now based in the Kansas City area, Clayton is passionate about four things in life: his wife, traveling, photography, and scuba diving. In business, his greatest passion is hearing the excitement in a client’s voice after they’ve found a franchise that matches their goals—and their happiness.
